Covid-19 Updates - updated 5/2/21
Opening times 9.00am until 4.00pm Monday to Friday
During these difficult times we are working extremely hard to keep up to date with current guidance regarding the ongoing pandemic of Covid-19 virus.
Please be assured our family will, no matter what, continue to look after your family the best we possibly can.
As a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) we are provided with regular, up to date advice on how to keep ourselves, our families, our clients and local community safe. As you know, things are changing daily, if you have any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to get in touch us on 01642 459555
Please read the following information carefully.
We strongly recommend, where possible, you follow these guidelines.
Due to government guidelines all people who enter the premises are required to wear a face covering unless they have an existing medical condition which makes them exempt, we also have hand sanitiser at the door when you enter and a track and trace code on the door for you to scan.
Funeral Arrangements:
Where possible, arrangements are to be made over the telephone or via video calling. You will have to come into the office for a short time to sign some forms but this should not take longer than 10 minutes.
Visiting a loved one at the Chapel of Rest:
If you do wish to visit a loved one, we ask you limit the number attending at any one time to those living in the same household or social bubble and limit the number of visits made to the Chapel of Rest, where possible.
Funeral Services:
Sadly, many of our local churches have closed their doors to funeral services however some are starting to reopen following guidance. Government guidance says only 30 people maximum are allowed at Services to avoid social gatherings to help reduce the risk of infection, please be aware this is reduced to 16 if the Service is held within our premises due to the size of our Service Chapel.
Please also think carefully about who will attend the funeral; We are currently providing a webcast service free of charge at our local Crematoriums in the hope that some people may find a small bit of solace in being able to follow their loved ones Service if they cannot attend the funeral.
We are now allowing use of our limousines however face coverings must be worn to protect yourselves and our drivers. Our limousines are restricted to 6 mourners from the same household or social bubble only.
Funeral Notices:
We kindly ask that you please refrain from publicly advertising funeral details to reduce the risk of other, well-meaning mourners arriving unexpectedly. If you would like any advice on how to word a notice to inform others of your bereavement, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Memorial Services:
When this crisis ends, we would love to able to assist you in arranging a celebration of life/memorial service for your loved one for all family and friends to attend. If this is something you think you would like to do, please let a member of the team or know so we can contact you again in the future or please bear this in mind and contact us when the time comes.
Please be patient with us, guidance is changing daily but we will keep you informed of any further developments. We are available 24/7 so please do not hesitate to contact us for advice. It is a truly challenging time for everyone, but if we all work together, we will get through this together.
Thank you for your understanding and stay safe.
