Here at Fawcett and Hetherington we are proud to say we have been looking after families for 25 years

About Us

Established in 1993 by Alistair Fawcett and David “Pip” Hetherington when they opened our first office in South Bank. In 1995 another branch was opened in Normanby High Street.

In October 2010, we combined both offices and opened a purposely designed Funeral Home out of a former Public House on Eston High Street and named it King George House, this allowed us to concentrate our efforts on providing a personal and comforting service in times of need in one central building.

In 2021 Alistair Fawcett fully retired and in 2022 Pauline Fawcett retired too, leaving the daily running of the company in the capable hands of Terry and Andrew, their sons, who are doing this sucessfully.

At King George House we have 7 chapels of rest, 2 which are specifically designed for disabled access and one bigger chapel for those with larger families who may wish to visit all at once.

We also have a service chapel in which we can hold small Funeral Services and other activities. This is can be used before a graveside service in the winter, to hold a memorial service for those who prefer a direct non attended funeral and we also use it a Chrismas to allow families to come in and take some time to reflect and write a tribute to their loved on to put on our memorial tree.

We can cater for deaf people as one of our members of staff is qualified to sign language British signature level 2.

Proud to be on the Three Best Rated website here

We are a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors and abide by its Code of Practice. Our staff are also members of the British Institute of Funeral Directors and The British Institute of Embalmers . We also abide by their codes of practice.
